My Vision...

I've been an Aerial Hammock Teacher for almost a decade and in that time I've sought out every available source of knowledge and every possible avenue for personal growth. As I tasted the offerings available to me as a student I began to realise that almost exclusively the Aerial Yoga classes were all about the 'Aerial' with the 'Yoga' barely featuring.  This is something I aim to change.  

For me Aerial Yoga is a yoga class with an aerial sling/hammock as a prop.  It's a yoga class without fancy made up names.  It's a yoga class that includes Sanskrit and breath practice and Dharma talks. The aerial hammock extends the practice and supports the practice but doesn't define the practice.

Aerial Yoga

A weekend course which will gift you with the skills and insight to deepen your personal practice by addressing your individual goals, and unique physical needs.

Aerial Yoga  

Level 1

 - Beginners Series - 

This is a 40-hour intensive Teacher Training which provides in-depth knowledge to cater for new students. 

It examines the responsibility of being the first introduction to an Aerial Yoga practice, and the importance of ensuring that the emotional and physical wellbeing of the student is met.

This is a challenging and essential training for ALL Aerial Yoga Teachers.

Level 2

- Intermediate Practitioner -

This is a 35-hour intensive Teacher Training which offers Aerial Asana options for the more experienced student.

 

It also explores the art of teaching through a more technical lens.

Aerial Yoga 

Level 3

- Advanced Practitioner -

This is a 35-hour intensive Teacher Training which offers which offers Aerial Asana options for experienced students searching to extend their physical practice.

The art of teaching is explored through a creative and technical lens, with  an intent to enhance the skill of the teacher and deepen the Aerial offerings.

Aerial Yoga 

for Kids

This is a 15-hour Teacher Training to provide you with the language and skills to share an Aerial Yoga offering that meets the unique needs of children aged 2.5-12 years. 

Aerial Yoga

- Release & Restore -

This is a 15-hour Teacher Training that explores a Yin Yoga style Aerial Yoga practice.

 

This approach utilises a low  Aerial Hammock.

Aerial Dance 

Level 1

This is an intermediate 35-hour Teacher Training that explores the art of dance with the use of the Aerial Hammock.

Aerial Dance

Level 2

This is an advanced 35-hour Teacher Training that delves in the depths of Aerial Dance movement vocabulary and the skills of creating Aerial Hammock Choreography.

Aerial Body Conditioning

This is a 20-hour Teacher Training which employs Pilates and Yoga techniques within the aerial hammock in order to achieve strength and fitness whilst ensuring longevity of practice through correct biomechanics.

Special Needs

This is a 25-hour Teacher Training lead in conjunction with Occupational Therapist, Zoe Gianduzzo (creator of Aerial Therapeutics).

It offers a unique and specialised perspective of the use of the aerial Hammock as a tool for those requiring a therapeutic approach.

As a new studio owner, my business was growing and I was in need of some more teachers. I wanted excellent teachers trained by the best in the business so I invited Chantelle Rawlings to host an Aerial Teacher Training Course at my studio in Geelong.

Recommended Prerequisites

  • Health & Fitness Instructor Certification e.g. Yoga, Pilates etc.

  • A regular physical practice.

  • 6+ months of regular aerial practice.

  • A willingness to receive feedback, laugh at yourself and grow as a person.

Places are limited.  Carefully review the course details, dates and costs before you apply then compete the application form below.  Once your application has been reviewed and accepted you will be emailed an invoice.  

In order to secure your spot in the Earth & Air Aerial Teacher Training, a 30% non- refundable partial payment is required.

Complete payment by Bank Transfer is required to be paid in full two weeks prior to course commencement.

FAQ's

How much previous aerial experience do I need before participating in the course?

It is recommended that you have a minimum of 6 months of aerial experience and are physically fit prior to enrolling into this training.

 

Do I have to be a certified instructor in the Health and Fitness industry in order to gain an Earth & Air teacher raining certification?

Any applicants who are not certified instructors may still be considered for this training.  If accepted, the attain a preliminary certification with the requirement that an instructor certification be completed within 12 months of the Earth & Air TT end date.  All teacher trainees must complete all the modules of the course outlined above.

 

If I am certified in different styles of yoga/aerials/fitness training, will I be granted recognition of prior learning?

The content of this training is very specialised.  It is necessary that every teacher trainee follow the same path of step-by-step learning.  Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and movement modalities will of course be very helpful as you explore the mechanics of the body whilst moving through the elements of Earth & Air.
